Bleeding Love

British singer Leona Lewis suffered a major meltdown in the days before she kicked off her European shows this week (15 April 2013) and came close to quitting the tour over the pressure.

The Bleeding Love star launched her Glassheart tour in Berlin, Germany on Monday night (15Apr13), but she has now revealed she nearly walked away from the trek as the stress became too much for her to bear.

In a post on her blog after her first concert, she writes, “I have been feeling the pressure so much… Only a few days ago I probably had one of the most stressful days of my life, I was in floods of tears and I had at one point thought of disappearing into the night and not coming back. All the emotions you feel during tour preparations are so overwhelming.”

However, Lewis recovered her composure and pressed ahead with opening night in the German capital, and now admits the show was worth it.

She adds, “Tonight I feel like my feet can’t touch the ground… Every bit of blood, sweat and tears had payed (sic) off.”

Leona places 3rd in this year’s richest young British singers list. View the statement below:

Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis has become the latest of the show’s stars to back the return of former judge Sharon Osbourne, who’s rumored to be coming back to the talent quest for around £1.5million. However, though Leona said she enjoyed being a guest judge last year, she’s revealed she wouldn’t like to do the job full-time.

She said, “I did a little stint last year and it was fun. It was a good thing for me to do.

“But it is quite scary and nerve-wracking to have a lot of people’s emotions in your hands so it’s a big job to take…

“I’m sure whoever does it will do well.”

And on the subject of Sharon’s rumored return, Leona said, “When I was on the show Sharon was there and she was so lovely.

“She’d be great.”

Leona made her remarks to MSN at the launch of her new “cruelty-free” make-up and fragrance range in association with the Body Shop.

Of The Limited Edition Collection , Leona said, “Animal testing is needless, especially in cosmetics.

“There are so many superior alternatives that have been developed already.

“We’re trying to push for a global ban. There is already an EU ban which came into effect on March 11 which is amazing.

“But there’s also a long way to go because we can push it globally but we need a lot of people’s support.”

Since I will not be able to post this early enough tomorrow I will post it now.

Leona is only 649 followers away from her 1st million followers! Leona will probably hit that mark either early tonight or early tomorrow morning so we thought we would just post it now.

Congrats Leona, we’re sure this is the first of many millions! We remember when we first joined Twitter you only had 16,000. Time really flies!

She’s spent the last few weeks sunning herself on holiday, looking fresh-faced and relaxed.

But Leona Lewis was back to work with a bang on Wednesday as she dressed up in a stylish monochrome dress for the Body Shop launch.
After having some time off, the singer jetted back to London earlier in the week and has been announced as the brand’s new ambassador, looking like she was back to her old self as she posed for photos.

The Bleeding Love singer, who’s about to embark on a 14-day UK tour, hid her curvaceous figure under the loose-fitting dress.
Buttoned up to the neck and with the hemline just a couple inches above the knee, the 27-year-old looked relatively modest for the photocall, opting for a demure style.
Clearly not liking the change in weather from LA to London, the former X Factor star decided to add a pair of thick black tights to the outfit but wore a pair of skyscraper stilettos for a little glamour.

Her long blonde hair, which she’d had done at a Los Angeles salon a few days previously, had been curled in perfect ringlets, falling long over her shoulders.
And in stark contrast to her completely make-up free look that she pulled off while on holiday, Leona wore dark smokey eyeliner and false lashes.
She also added a splash of bright pink lipstick as she posed with the brand’s beauty products in her first role as ambassador.

She told the Mail: ‘I’m passionate about beauty and I’m all about animal rights and Community Fair Trade.
‘As a result, I’m really conscious of where the products that I use come from. The Body Shop sells cruelty-free, ethically-sourced products containing amazing Community Fair Trade ingredients.’
And while the singer has been touted as a possible new judge on the X Factor, she admitted that it would be too nerve-wracking.
‘It was a good thing for me to do. But it is quite scary and nerve-wracking to have a lot of people’s emotions in your hands so it’s a big job to take. I’m sure whoever does it will do well,’ she said.

A year after The Body Shop’s successful partnership with actress Lily Cole, the cruelty-free beauty retailer has tapped another Brit “it-girl” to be its brand activist: X Factor winner Leona Lewis.

As part of her partnership, Lewis has teamed with the brand to create her own limited-edition makeup and fragrance collection, launching in the U.S. on April 15th — and we’ve got a first look here.

Lewis’s line includes four high-shine lip glosses, two shimmering blush palettes, a blush brush and a sweet adaptation of the brand’s cult classic white musk scent, called “White Musk Libertine.”

While the product range is small, picking a favorite has been hard for Lewis. “I adore them all,” she admits. “I am a huge fan of The Body Shop’s shimmer palettes, so I couldn’t resist adding them to my own collection. [And] shiny lips continue to be a big trend, so lip gloss was definitely a must-have.”

In addition to helping create her own line of products, the singer will also lend her voice to the brand’s campaign to end animal testing. The long-time vegetarian joins The Body Shop in celebrating the European Union’s ban on animal testing, which goes into effect Monday, and they will continue to work with NGO Cruelty Free International to advocate for a global ban on animal testing.

“I’m really conscious of where the products that I use come from,” Lewis has said of choosing to partner with The Body Shop. “The collaboration is a natural fit.”

Visit Cruelty Free International to learn more about the Body Shop’s campaign against animal testing; to shop Lewis’s collection, check out The Body Shop starting April 15.
