So, it’s that time of year again where we start preparations for Leona’s annual Birthday ‘book’. Last year we were under huge restraints and had to make an online version only, which can be viewed here.

This year, we are going to try and make a physical copy again – however, after last year and the amazing response we got, we will be posting a digital version on this site! It would also be a good way to view the videos that people have submitted for Leona.

Feel free to submit an audio file, a written message, a photograph or piece of art, or as we said before, a video message to be displayed here. All standard messages/images will be included in the printed book.

There are three ways that you can get your message to us

Message is for text only, Submit is for a variety of file formats. If you choose to email us, please make sure that your imagery isn’t an enormous file so that our inbox doesn’t fill up!

The Deadline for this is in one month March 10th so that the design can be completed and sent to print.

Today Leona took to Twitter to inform all of her fans that she will be performing at Radio 1′s Hackney Weekend this summer. Leona will most likely be performing her new single which is still unknown at the moment. Some fans were confused because every artist there has a page and each page has a title. Leona’s page is titled ‘A Moment Like This’ so it confused some fans and some thought she would be performing that but we did some research and found out it was only a title of Leona’s mini story. Hey everyone just to inform you all a lot of us Leona fans will be attempting to trend ‘Leona Lewis Glassheart’ on Saturday at 4pm US time and 9pm UK time. We realized that if we get Leona at trending topic she will gain loads of followers plus we might get some official ‘Glassheart’ news from her! This is why we have to give it all we got, we’ve done it before and I know we can do it again! 2012 is Leona’s year!

Earlier this week, singer Leona Lewis sang “Happy Birthday” to a rescued lion named Samson, who was turning 11 years old.

Lewis couldn’t help but be tickled with joy when the African lion cuddled with the teddy bear that she had left for him in his cage.

Samson, who is loved by all the animal technicians at The Humane Society of the United States’ sanctuary in California, was rescued from the exotic pet trade at three months old and has been living at the center ever since.

As many of you know Leona was on VH1′s ’100 Greatest Women In Music’ last night, she was #76. Here is the video clip!

Hello everyone, we just wanted to take some time to wish all of you a happy Valentine’s Day! We hope you all had a great day!

Leona Lewis has called for an end to the use of animals in cosmetic product testing.
In a personal Valentine’s plea, the ‘Happy’ star wrote to John Dalli, the European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy.

“As a compassionate EU citizen who loves both animals and cosmetics, I am sending you my heart-felt plea this Valentine’s Day to help animals who suffer to test beauty and personal care products for sale in the European Union,” the 26-year-old wrote. “I was so proud when, in 2009, the cruel practice of animal testing for cosmetics was banned in EU laboratories.

“Like millions of other citizens, I was appalled by the needless suffering of such tiny gentle creatures such as rabbits, hamsters and mice. I was delighted that our policy-makers listened to us and introduced not only a testing ban but also a ban on selling cosmetics tested on animals elsewhere in the world from 2013.”

She continued: “This sales ban is vital because it means that the EU’s strongly held ethical principle that testing cosmetics on animals is morally unjustifiable, would apply not just to its own laboratories but to laboratories across the globe.”

However, Lewis – who has been named both PETA’s ‘Sexiest Vegetarian’ and ‘Europe’s Sexiest Vegetarian’ – said that she was “dismayed” to learn that Commissioner Dalli is “considering a proposal that would undermine the 2013 ban by giving cosmetics companies a loophole to continue profiting from animal suffering”.

She wrote: “Like most girls, I love make-up, but my ethical principles are also very important to me. No new lipstick, eye-liner or other cosmetics ingredient can ever be worth the suffering and death of defenceless animals forced to endure painful toxicity tests.

“These gentle animals are killed by the hundreds in some tests, despite the fact that manufacturing products free of new animal testing is perfectly possible through the use of thousands of existing, safe ingredients.

“Animals have suffered enough. If their pain has been deemed immoral within the EU, it must also be immoral outside the EU. To trade in their pain would be hypocrisy.”

Dame Judi Dench, Ricky Gervais, Ke$ha, Melanie C and Sir Roger Moore are among those who have all joined Lewis, and 140,000 EU citizens, in signing the online petition to save the 2012 sales ban.

Today VH1 a very popular TV station in the US has released it’s poll for the top 100 greatest women in music history. Many are not happy with the polls because they feel it was unfair because some of the greats didn’t even make the list. However Leona definitely deserved to be on the list, she clocked in at #76 a good number but not the best by far. We could have done better but at least she is on the list and is ranked above some really great singers! Leona’s featured episode will be on tomorrow at 10pm on VH1, check your local listings.
